Sesame Street Live

Last Saturday night, we took Meg to go see Sesame Street Live, which she loved. I got great seats- fourth row, middle section and thanks to good luck, there were 3 empty seats on one side of us so we could spread out a little (which we found out later was wonderful!) We got to the State Theater a little early and Meg spent time ogling the toys that were for sale (and she bribed Daddy into getting her a Sesame Street soccer ball, which she now calls Elmo Ball) and climbing the stairs with all the other little kids who were waiting impatienly waiting for Elmo. When they finally opened the doors, we went into the theater to see the stage beautifully decorated. Meg loved running the aisles, although she didn't quite understand that by running down the sloping aisles, she was picking up speed. Once, while walking the aisles with Daddy, she almost wiped out!
Once the show started, she was transfixed. Even I was transfixed! As soon as Elmo came out, she got a huge smile on her face, sighed a big sigh and said "Elmo". She moved between Michael and I during the first half but was very good. At intermission, we went to the ladies room which didn't have a changing table AT ALL. When you walk down the very narrow stairwell into the restroom, it opens up into an anteroom with gorgeous armchairs and a chaise lounge- obviously meant for ladies who are having a charming evening at the theater to rest, gossip and relax. Well, instead of lovely high society ladies resting on the chairs, there were moms with naked toddler butts on those lovely armchairs and chaise lounges. So, I got on the floor and changed Meg standing up. Honestly, what kind of place doesn't have a changing table- at least one! Anyway- rant over.
Meg had a much harder time sitting still after intermission and she and Daddy spent the last 15 minutes of the show walking the aisles. Overall, we had a great time. And Sesame Street Live put on a great performance. I'll post the pictures later.
